The annual fashion week was highlighted by rich colors from Vertigo and the launch of Manometro watches.
South Florida’s entertainment and lifestyle magazine, Ocean Drive kicked off its 4th annual Fall Fashion Week October 18th with the long awaited grand opening of Giuseppe Zanotti’s boutique in the Shops of Bal Harbour. Zanotti himself flew in for the opening to showcase his fabulous fall collection of shoes and to autograph them as well. What better way to spend a Tuesday night than browsing gorgeous shoes while mingling with well known designers and drinking cocktails.
Fashion week didn’t end there. On Wednesday guests were graced with yet another grand opening: Adriana Hoyos Showroom in the Miami Design District, her second in Florida. Hoyos’ classic yet innovative designs set her apart from the many contemporary designers found in the Miami Design District. Her use of natural materials and fine woods bring about a classic look in everything she designs, from cocktail tables to sofas.
Guests were not only invited to indulge in delicious hors d’oeuvres while sitting in expensive furniture and listening to live music, but also treated to a runway show of Vertigo’s fall collection and Koko and Palenki shoes. He continues to captivate his audiences with his ingenious blend of velvet and the sheer, beautifully brought together in browns, greens and blues. Definite must have colors for fall.
As the week went on, Skybar at Miami Beach’s Shore Club hosted a cocktail party celebrating the US launch of Manometro watches. Socialites and the media mingled and sipped Island Breeze by Bacardi cocktails as models circulated, showcasing the watches throughout the night. Italian designer Giuliano Mazzuoli favors simple yet sophisticated designs making his the hottest watches of the season.
The week was scheduled to conclude with 1921 Jeans and Ziamond, making it a night of Denim and Diamonds. However, due to heavy rainfall from Hurricane Wilma on Friday, October 21st the event was postponed. A new date has yet to be schedules, but if you think these events sounded like fun… Denim and Diamonds is said to be the highlight of Ocean Drive’s Fall Fashion Week 2005. Love diamonds and denim? Come check it out.
