The unexpected, yet awaited, return of Adele had us all at “Hello”. Last week the British beauty dropped the music video for her first single in four years, “Hello”, tallying a new accomplishment to her resume by reaching more than 25 million views in 24 hours, evidently denoting how eagerly the fans were craving her comeback.
Adele is known for reflecting her personal life in her albums, making her lyrics resonate with people, giving them a strong sense of connection, and helping them cope with the turmoil a breakup could cause. Heartbreaks are inevitable, but music will always save the day. How many times did you find yourself up roaring “Someone Like You” out of spite? I mean, if it happens to a superstar and they get through it, so can we. In a letter posted on her website, she says:
“My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did. “
The 27 year-old Grammy winner and first-time parent has said that motherhood has humbled her in various ways and the much-needed hiatus from the spotlight, gave her the time to focus on herself. She now sees life from a different perspective – I’d like to call that growing up- and we are sure that maturity will be reflected on her new LP coming out November 20th.
