Are you ready to bring your inner Latino out? In less than a month one of the biggest Latin award shows will take Miami by storm and be flooded by Latin Super Stars.
The 28th Annual Premio Lo Nuestro a La Musica Latina, presented by Univision-the leading Spanish language broadcast channel- will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
The awards show, which features 26 categories, honors the best in Latin music and will gather la crème de la crème within the Latino artist community for a night full of fiesta. Among the most popular categories are: Pop, Musica Tropical, Regional Mexicana and Urban.
This year, the ceremony has two favorites Romeo Santos and Juan Luis Guerra, both veterans to the show, with seven and six nominations, respectively. Following them is one of Miami’s favorite Latin stars Marc Anthony, dubbed “El Rey de la Salsa” (the King of Salsa), who has garnered a total of 61 nominations throughout the show’s history, and he snatched five nods this year.
Well known celebrities such as Mexican singer/actress Thalia, Cuban duo Gente de Zona, Colimbian singer Maluma, and Puerto Rican reggetonero Yandel –whose performances have become sort of a tradition- figure as some of the already confirmed attendees. The show will be hosted by Galilea Montijo and Arath de la Torre.
Who will take the treble clef shaped statuette? We will have to wait and watch to find out!
