From May 3 to May 7, SunFest will be returning to Downtown West Palm Beach for yet another year of non-stop music, art demonstrations, and much more. Arriving just in time to kickstart your summer vacation vibes, SunFest is a five-day festival experience that has a little bit of everything for everyone, especially for those who seek to explore beyond the music lineup.
The festival offers a well-rounded experience that includes a variety of activities. You can wander the Art District between performances where you can enjoy unique interactive installations and purchase art from more than 60 artists, crafters, and vendors. You can also immerse yourself into the “Chillzone,” a lounge area designed for instant relaxation.
A variety of great food will be available in addition to three Floating Bars where special drinks will be created for you to enjoy on the waterfront. Meanwhile, great music will be the backdrop of your festival experience up until the very end, when the event comes to an end with a spectacular BB&T Fireworks Show Sunday, May 7, at 9 p.m.
While you meander your way around the festival, keep an eye out for artists that can spice up your daily playlist from oldies to newbies. Here are some recommendations to get you started:
Breaking into the music industry with his 1993 debut album, Doggystyle, Snoop Dogg managed to maintain a long career of music by staying true to his California roots, all the while reinventing his sound with each new album. To kick it old school with the master of laid back rap and reggae, join Snoop Dogg from 8:15 p.m to 9:30 p.m. at the Tire Kingdom Stage on May 3rd.
Magic City Hippies
If you are on a quest to discover new music from local artists, Magic City Hippies will be a great discover to your ears. Determined to bring the beachy-sounds of Miami to wherever they go, this indie trio has been gradually attracting a larger fanbase as they have embarked on a nationwide tour this year. You can catch them on May 6, from 1:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ford Stage.
The SunFest lineup wouldn’t be complete without a dash of EDM. Marshmello is an electronic dance music producer and DJ who first gained international recognition by remixing songs by Jack Ü and Zedd. Dance along with the artist as his marshmallow mascot head bobs along to the beat at the Ford stage, on May 6, from 9:45 to 10:45 p.m.
Commonly known as one of the bands that curated the radio-friendly genre of pop punk, Blink 182 is considered a classic 90s rock band that has been the source of inspiration for many bands today. Join them for an evening of teen angst nostalgia at the Ford Stage on May 7, from 7:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
