WHAT: SOUTH BEACH WINE AND FOOD FESTIVAL
WHERE: MIAMI BEACH, FL
WHEN: FEBRUARY 21ST-25TH, 2018
For five days in February, South Beach will become a food lover’s paradise when the annual South Beach Food and Wine Festival returns for its 17th year. Widely regarded as one of the nation’s most prestigious gourmet gatherings, this year’s edition will be home to 80+ events, including walk-around tastings, brunches, late-night parties, and even fitness classes.
The festival has grown in popularity in recent years due to its impressive lineup of world-renowned chefs and this year the lineup only gets better. Television personalities such as Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay, Giada DeLaurentiis, and Jose Andres will be among the many recognizable faces at this year’s festival. Additionally, SOBEWFF will also feature an array of local chefs from Miami’s most celebrated restaurants, such as Finka’s Aileen Andrade, Jimmy Carey of Jimmy’z Kitchen, and co-founder of Pincho Factory Nedal Ahmed.
A quick glance at the ticket prices on the festival’s website can discourage the average consumer from attending—tickets to signature events like Burger Bash and Goya’s Grand Tasting Village can range from $225 to $350. However, not all events are that pricey. In fact, if you filter the events on their website by price, you’ll come across some exciting finds for a decent price, like the Rooftop Happy Hour hosted by Kristin Cavallari ($75) or Buddhas and Bellinis ($35), a combination of brunch and a yoga class in the middle of the beach. A portion of all ticket sales benefits Florida International University. To date, the festival has raised more than $26 million for the university’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management
