Soulful singer-songwriter Allegra Miles has been raising the vibe of South Florida with her powerful lyrics, soulful voice, and genuine spirit. Born and raised in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Miles comes from a musical family and states that she was singing before she could talk. She describes her songwriting as a form of self-expression and her own personal therapy and healing. A fusion of pop, R&B, and Soul, her music is heartfelt and unique.
Would you be able to tell us about yourself and your history? When did your music journey begin?
I would sing along to the lullabies and nursery rhymes. So, I have been singing my whole life and started performing early on as well. I started playing the piano when I was four and started playing guitar and writing songs when I was 11.
Who are your biggest influences?
Two of my biggest influences are Alicia Keys and Jessie J. Alicia’s music comes from the soul and speaks on how she wants to make the world a better place through music.
Jessie J is also an incredible, beautiful soul. Her musical style and the way she interprets and feels music is so special. Artists like Jessie J are extremely rare today. She’s doing this because she has a stone cold passion for music, and wants to spread more love. She is similar to the type of artist that I aspire to be.
Recently, you were featured by Jessie J! Tell us about that experience!
Recently, Jessie J was doing a contest called the Rose challenge. On her new album R.O.S.E., she had an instrumental track called Rose challenge that was created specifically for this. She invited her Instagram followers to write their own lyrics or just vibe over the instrumental track. She said she would post her favorites and would eventually pick winners who would get to perform with her.
Jessie soon picked me and others to go on her Instagram story! When I saw that Jessie had put me on her story, I was screaming and freaking out! I’m so grateful for the feature!
Tell us about your single “Reality” and the inspiration behind it.
I will soon be releasing my new single, “Reality.” This song means a lot to me because when I wrote it, it was one of the first times I had written a song that really feels like me musically and lyrically. I write about things that I see in the world. One of the big problems in our society is that we often shield ourselves from the painful and extremely uncomfortable truth, simply because it’s easier to not see it.
My song talks about this, and how we can come together, be brave, and open our eyes.
What are your upcoming plans? Where should we expect to see you next?
I will continue to write and produce music and spread as much light and love as I can. I play at festivals, restaurants, events, and more. I post about these on my Facebook, Instagram, and website so be sure to check it out!
I have recently recorded three of my original songs and will be releasing them in the next few months, so please stay tuned and share with your friends! Additionally, I have some exciting things that I can’t talk about, that I can share in the next year!
“I feel music in the deepest part of my soul, it’s who I am. Through music, I want to bring people together and make the world a better place, with more peace and happiness. Music is love.”
