Dogs have always been at the heart of human companionship and continue to be so for obvious reasons. Whether they be loyal sidekicks and loving family members or studious workers and selfless volunteers, dogs maintain their spot as man’s best friend. In honor of National Dog’s Day on August 26th, we’re taking a look back at 100 years of dogs that have become famous for portraying the characters that we’ve all grown to love. From television and movies to Instagram, dogs have stolen our hearts for as long as we can remember.
On this holiday, sit back and relax with your favorite furry friends and take some time to appreciate some of the most famous trail-blazing canines that have entertained us for years. If you find yourself without a partner to share this day with, consider adopting a dog in need of a home. A dog’s love is unmistakable and unconditional and has every right to be celebrated. As best stated by the founder of National Dog’s Day, Colleen Paige, “Dogs have both an outer and inner beauty, an ability to love and a spirit that connects with humans in a way that cannot be replaced by any other living thing.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
